Running to Support the HCAP Employee Assistance Fund

Supporting the financial well-being of employees across its portfolio companies is an important part of HCAP’s approach to building resilient businesses.

In December 2025, HCAP Partners’ Stefan Okhuysen completed the De Mar a Mar ultra trail race, running 105 kilometers across the rugged terrain of Baja California Sur. Stefan dedicated the run to raising awareness and support for the HCAP Employee Assistance Fund (EAF)—a program that provides emergency financial assistance to portfolio company employees facing unexpected hardships.

To support the effort, HCAP’s management team committed to donating $300 per kilometer, helping generate additional funding for the EAF and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to supporting the financial well-being of frontline workers across its portfolio. To date, the HCAP EAF has distributed more than $122K to support employees across the portfolio¹.

The Employee Assistance Fund provides meaningful support for employees across our portfolio companies when unexpected challenges arise. I wanted to use this race as an opportunity to help raise awareness and support for the program.
— Stefan Okhuysen, HCAP Partners Senior Partner
